Sustainable Craft Networks

The Creative Peninsula Exhibition 2010 is delighted to welcome work from four European partners currently involved with Ards Borough Council in the European Leonardo da Vinci 'Sustainable Craft Networks' project.

Ards Borough Council and representative organisations in Ireland, Finland, Italy and Spain are working in partnership to investigate how craft businesses and the organisations and networks that support them can become more innovative and sustainable.

Artist Talk with Visual Artists Ireland representative Damien Duffy

Ards Arts has been working closely with Visual Artists Ireland to deliver a joint programme of workshops, seminars and talks. As part of the Creative Peninsula Programme we are delighted to welcome artist and educator Damien Duffy.

As a graduate of Goldsmiths of London and founder of Void Art School, Damien will talk about his experience of artist led initiatives and his role as a core member of Void's Curating Committee.

VAI are the All-Ireland body for professional visual artists, providing services, facilities, and resources for visual artists, initiating artistic projects & publications, and acting as an advocate on behalf of professional visual artists.

Ards Arts Centre, Wed 11 August at 7.30pm.
Admission is free and refreshments will be provided. All welcome!

Meet the Maker


During 2010, Ards Crafts welcomes Designer Makers from the Ards Borough to showcase, demonstrate and talk about their work on the last Saturday of each month. Scheduled Meet the Maker events to November 2010 include:
